He served as a Member of the 9th Lok Sabha representing the Aska constituency and was the 13th Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Additionally, he held the position of Deputy Minister for Industries, Commerce, Community Development and Panchayat Raj in the Odisha Cabinet, while also being recognized as the Raja of Dharakote Estate.
