Anatole Shub was an American author, journalist, and researcher known for his work in Soviet and Eastern European studies. After serving in the US Navy, he began his journalism career at The New Leader and later The New York Times. He opened a bureau for The Washington Post in Bonn and was assigned to Moscow. Shub was also an analyst for the United States Information Agency and served as a news director at Radio Free Europe. He was known for his insights on Russian public opinion until his death in 2006.
