Anatoly Matsukevich was a Russian chess player and journalist born on September 7, 1938, and passed away on June 14, 2015. He was a sports master in the USSR, known for his contributions to chess theory with numerous publications. Matsukevich was part of the RSFSR team that won the inaugural Soviet correspondence championship between 1966 and 1968, achieving the best result at board three. In 1986, he portrayed Count Nesselrode in the film 'Lermontov'. He is buried at Vostryakovskoye Cemetery.
