Per Anders Gert Mellbourn, born August 15, 1946, in Lund, is a Swedish journalist and political scientist. He served as the editor-in-chief of Dagens Nyheter and Sändaren, and was also the head of the Foreign Policy Institute. Mellbourn obtained his PhD in political science from Stockholm University in 1979 and became an associate professor in 2004. He worked at Dagens Nyheter from 1974 to 1997 and later for Sändaren until 2012. Additionally, he was a professor in politics and journalism at Halmstad University and served as head of the media studies department at Stockholm University in 2013-2014.
