Notably, he won a bronze medal in the 10,000 meters at the 1946 European Athletics Championships in Oslo, finishing behind two Finnish runners. Csaplár also secured several national championships, including victories in the 5,000 meters in 1939, the 10,000 meters in 1941, and the marathon in 1946. In 1941, he set a world record in the 20 kilometers event.
