André "Dédé" Desjardins was a Canadian union official influential in the construction sector and involved in organized crime. He served as president of the Conseil des métiers de la construction and vice-president of the FTQ from 1970 to 1974, earning the nickname "the king of construction." Desjardins was implicated in corruption investigations in Quebec's construction unions and later became a prominent loan shark in Montreal until his murder in 2000. He is not related to mobster Raynald Desjardins of the Rizzuto crime family.
