André Kagwa Rwisereka was a Rwandan politician and vice president of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), which he co-founded in August 2009. He was born on December 31, 1949, in Rusenge, Nyaruguru District, Rwanda, and was found dead, partially decapitated, near a wetland in Butare on July 14, 2010. His death was surrounded by controversy, prompting calls for an independent international investigation, amidst concerns it was politically motivated. He had previously been a prominent member of the Rwandan Patriotic Front during the Rwandan Civil War.
