Andrew Mark Cuomo is an American politician, author, and lawyer who served as the 56th Governor of New York from 2011 to 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the son of Mario Cuomo, who held the same office for three terms. Born in New York, Cuomo attended Fordham University and obtained a JD from Albany Law School. He worked as a campaign manager for his father and later held multiple roles, including as the U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. He was re-elected governor twice amidst challenges from leftist candidates.
