Korotayev graduated with honors from Moscow University in 1984 and has conducted fieldwork in various countries including Yemen, Egypt, Nigeria, and India. His research focuses on the long-term development of socio-political systems, intercultural studies, mathematical modeling, and global economic dynamics, including Kondratieff waves.
