Andrey Petrov is a Soviet and Russian ballet dancer and choreographer, born on December 27, 1945, in Moscow. He is the founder and artistic director of the Kremlin Ballet Theatre. Petrov graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School in 1965 and joined the Bolshoi Theatre troupe, performing there until 1986. He graduated from the GITIS choreography faculty in 1976 and served as a choreographer at the Kremlin Palace from 1989 to 1990. He was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1985.
