A doctor of law and a professor at the St. Petersburg State University, he has contributed significantly to the history of legal thought in Russia. With over 170 scientific and methodological works, he has also served as chief editor of the 'Proceedings of Higher Educational Institutions: Jurisprudence' and the 'Russian Yearbook of Legal Theory'.
