Andrey Valentinovich Sviridov (December 22, 1946 - November 23, 2023) was a Russian zoologist and entomologist, specializing in the systematics, faunistics, zoogeography, ecology, and conservation of Lepidoptera, particularly the Noctuidae family. He authored over 300 publications in entomology and was the curator of a collection of nocturnal moths and the largest private collection of Lepidoptera in Russia, previously owned by Anatoly Vasilyevich Tsvetaev. Sviridov described six new species of butterflies for science.
