Before attending film school in Denmark, he gained experience in producing television programs in the Faroe Islands. He graduated from the alternative film school 18 Frames in 2012, with his graduation project being shown at the Odense International Film Festival. Known for his short films that address social issues, Høgenni has received various awards, including the Geytin awards for his film works and recognition from the Faroese government as a young artist.
