Andrzej Matuszewski was a Polish artist, painter, and happening creator born on August 28, 1924, in Poznań. He studied painting at the State Higher School of Plastic Arts in Poznań, graduating in 1949. Matuszewski co-founded Group 55 and ran the Od Nowa gallery from 1964 to 1969. He organized nationwide symposia and participated in the 1965 Elbląg Biennale of Spatial Forms. His works are part of the National Museum collection in Wrocław, and he authored several books on art, including 'Artykulacje' and 'Aspekty'. He passed away on May 6, 2008, in Poznań.
