Ángel Álvarez de Miranda (1915-1957) was a Basque historian of religions, philologist, and essayist. He began his studies at the Seminary of Vitoria and served in the Spanish Civil War. Later, he studied Philosophy at the University of Madrid, followed by religious studies in Rome under Raffaele Pettazzoni. He wrote numerous articles on political history initially, but later focused primarily on religious history. Despite his contributions, his work became more recognized posthumously, largely due to his wife's efforts in promoting his legacy.
