Ángel Enrique Hernández Castillo is a Dominican educator and author, born on October 1, 1953, in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. He has served as the Minister of Education since August 3, 2022, after being appointed by President Luis Abinader. He is the founder of the Open University for Adults and has worked as a teacher at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. Hernández was also a member of the National Council of Higher Education, Science and Technology and served as an advisor to the Executive Power on education matters in August 2020.
