She played as a pivot, beginning her career with Real Club Celta, where she made her debut in the Primera División Femenina. During her tenure, she won a Spanish league title and three Copa de la Reina titles. She also played for Arjeriz Xuncas and Caixa Valencia, achieving runner-up positions in the Copa. Araújo was an international player, representing Spain thirty times and participating in the 1983 European Championship.
