Muller had a standout season in 1934, earning nine Brownlow Medal votes, making him the top Geelong player that year. He played a crucial role in Geelong's 1937 Grand Final victory, contributing effectively to the team's success. Known for his versatility, he mostly played on the wing but could also fill various positions. His brothers, Jack and Nick, also played for Geelong.
