Aníbal Corujo Menéndez, born October 24, 1924, in La Felguera, was a prominent Asturian tonada singer who retired from music. He began singing at a young age influenced by his father and grandfather, participating in a school choir. He earned his first competition award in 1951 and was named 'Champion of Champions' in 1966 at the Filarmónica theater in Oviedo. He formed the group Así Canta Asturias and recorded a long play and several singles, contributing a collection of twenty songs. He was honored in 2010 for his contributions to Asturian music.
