Aniru Conteh (August 6, 1942 - April 4, 2004) was a Sierra Leonean doctor and expert in the clinical treatment of Lassa fever, a viral hemorrhagic fever endemic to West Africa. He studied medicine at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and taught at the Ibadan Teaching Hospital before returning to Sierra Leone to aid in the Lassa fever program. During the Sierra Leone Civil War, he managed the world's only Lassa fever ward at Kenema Government Hospital, decreasing mortality rates amid limited resources until he died from an accidental needle stick injury.
