Garth-Grüner worked for ØK in Paris before marrying Uggi Mac van Hauen in 1960 and later Torben Garth-Grüner in 2000. From 1981 to 2001, she served as a court lady to Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, establishing a close relationship with the queen. She passed away on September 28, 2012, after a prolonged illness.
