Anita Marie Martini was a pioneering American sports journalist and broadcaster known for her significant contributions to sports media. She made history as the first woman to cover a Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 1973 and was the first female journalist permitted access to a baseball locker room in 1974. Based primarily in Houston, she worked for various radio and television stations from the mid-1960s until her untimely death in 1993.
