Anita Ratnam (born May 21, 1954) is an Indian classical and contemporary dancer and choreographer. Trained in Bharatanatyam, she has also received formal training in Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, and Kalaripayattu. She developed a dance style known as 'New Bharatanatyam.' In 1992, she founded and directed the 'Arangam Trust' in Chennai and established the 'Arangam Dance Theatre' in 1993. Additionally, in the same year, she created an Indian dance portal called 'Nartak.com.' Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to performing arts.
