She completed her secondary education in 1956 and studied journalism in England, at Poppius School in Sweden, and in California. Sjöberg worked for various publications including Folket, United Press International, Bildjournalen, and Stockholms-Tidningen, later freelancing and joining Vi. She served as a reportage chief and author of several books, including 'Flykten till missbruk' and 'Bara en mormor'. She was also part of the editorial board for Inside Sweden from 1986 to 1990.
