Anita Yeckel (1942-2015) was a prominent Republican politician in Missouri, serving in the Missouri Senate from 1997 to 2005 and achieving the position of assistant majority floor leader. Born in Utah, she graduated with a BS in political science from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Yeckel ran for GOP nomination for State Treasurer in 2004 but was defeated. She was married to Bob Yeckel, who unsuccessfully sought to replace her in the Senate. Yeckel passed away at age 72, succumbing to heart disease.
