She has served as a senior advisor in future resources and was the former Deputy Under Secretary for Research, Education, and Economics (REE) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Bartuska is also a former chief scientist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, contributing significantly to the fields of ecology and biology throughout her career.
