She achieved notable success in her athletic career, winning a bronze medal in the 3000-meter walk at the 1985 World Indoor Championships in Paris and again at the 1987 Championships. She earned further accolades, including a bronze in the 5000-meter walk at the Universiade and a silver in the 10,000-meter walk at the Pan American Games. Additionally, she placed eighth in the 10km walk at the World Championships and seventh in the 3000m at the 1989 Indoor Championships.
