Anna Lee Aldred was an American jockey and trick rider born on April 19, 1921, and she passed away on June 12, 2006. She made history as the first woman in the U.S. to obtain a jockey's license and had a successful racing career from 1939 to 1945, winning numerous races at state and county fairs. Afterward, she transitioned to trick riding from 1945 to 1950. Aldred was honored with inductions into the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1983 and the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 2004.
