Anna Mae Winburn, born Anna Mae Dardén, was an American singer and bandleader renowned for her work in the swing genre. Leading the International Sweethearts of Rhythm from 1941 until its dissolution in 1948, she also had earlier roles with local radio, clubs, and various territory bands, including the Cotton Club Boys. Winburn was acclaimed for her organizational talent and stage presence. After her time with the band, she attempted to recreate its success in later years. She was married to Eustace ‘Duke’ Pilgrim and had four children, residing in New York until her passing in 1999.
