Kathleen Anne Edwards was a prominent Canadian politician who served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Kootenay riding in British Columbia from 1986 to 1996. As a member of the New Democratic Party, she became the first female Minister for Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources in the province during Michael Harcourt's government. In addition to her political career, Edwards was an author, known for her book 'Seeking Balance: Conversations with BC Women in Politics' published in 2008. She passed away on October 15, 2022.
