Hansberg was a member of the Pro Patria and Res Publica Union from May 3, 2001, to March 3, 2014, and later joined the Estonian Free Party in October 2014. She has participated in local elections and was a trade representative in Russia from 1996 to 1998. Additionally, she has been involved with the international women's club Zonta since 1992.
