Anne-Marie Alonzo (1951 – 2005) was a Canadian playwright, poet, novelist, critic, and publisher. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, she emigrated to Canada at the age of twelve. In 1966, a car accident left her paralyzed and reliant on a wheelchair. She earned a Bachelor's degree in 1976, a Master's degree in 1978, and a Ph.D. in French Studies in 1986 from the University of Montreal. Alonzo published twenty books, including poetry volumes, and was nominated for several awards. She co-founded the magazine Trois in 1989.
