Anne Wafula Strike MBE is a British Paralympic wheelchair racer born on May 8, 1969, in Bungoma, Kenya. She contracted polio at two years old, leading to paralysis below the T7 vertebra. After moving to the UK in 2000, she began competing in wheelchair racing and represented Kenya in the 400m T53 final at the Athens Paralympics in 2004. She gained British citizenship in 2006, reclassifying to T54 events. A BBC 'My Story' winner, her autobiography was published in 2010, and she was named MBE in 2014 for her services to disability sports and charity.
