Antero Takala, born on June 7, 1939, in Helsinki, is a Finnish photographer and former TV cameraman for Yleisradio. He started photography in the 1950s and joined Yleisradio as a cameraman in 1960, retiring in 2002. Takala is known for his black-and-white photographs that convey fiction rather than documentary. His notable works include the video art pieces 'Romeo and Julia' and 'Piha'. In addition to his photography, he published a retrospective exhibition showcasing his work from 1960-2010 and authored the book 'Mindscape – Mielenmaisema' in 2010. He is a member of the Finnish Cinematographers Association.
