Anthony Antone was an American sentenced to death in Florida for his involvement in planning the murder of Richard Cloud, committed on October 23, 1975. He was sentenced to death on August 27, 1976. His execution was controversial; at 66 years old, he was the oldest person on death row in Florida. Many viewed the execution as scandalous and inhumane, leading to a campaign for clemency. Despite a stay from the court, Governor Bob Graham denied clemency, and Antone was executed in the electric chair, being the oldest person executed in the US until 2004.
