Anthony Edward Bottoms is a British criminologist born on August 29, 1939. He served as a fellow at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, from 1984 to 2006, and held a joint professorship in criminology at Cambridge and Sheffield universities. On November 22, 2022, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for his contributions to criminology, particularly for developing a new theory sensitive to social justice. His work has significantly enriched the field.
