Anton Egger (born May 15, 1932 in Öblarn) is an Austrian emeritus professor of business administration. He studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business from 1950 and received his doctorate in 1954. After working as an accounting expert in industry and as an independent tax advisor, he habilitated at the University of Graz in 1970. From 1975 he was a full professor of business administration at the University of Graz. In 1985 he was appointed to the chair of corporate accounting and auditing at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which he held until his retirement in September 2000. Egger's scientific work is characterized by a wealth of publications in various areas of accounting. His special scientific interest has always been in business valuation.
