Anton Heuberger was a German engineer and physicist born on February 20, 1942, in Munich. He completed his studies at the Technical University of Munich, where he earned his doctorate in 1973. His dissertation focused on the influence of the absorption location of gamma quanta on the energy resolution of diffused semiconductor detectors with internal amplification. From 1993 to 2007, he directed the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology in Itzehoe and held a chair in semiconductor technology at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. Heuberger was also a member of the German Academy of Engineering Sciences.
