Anton Lazar was a Slovenian Roman Catholic priest born on January 11, 1927, in Idrija. He attended primary school in his hometown and secondary school at the small seminary in Gorica and Videm from 1940 to 1945. He studied theology in Ljubljana, where he was ordained a priest on June 29, 1952. He served as a vicar in Spodnja Idrija and Ledina before becoming a chaplain in Tolmin and later a parish priest in multiple locations including Log pod Mangartom and Gabrje. He contributed to the Goriška Katoliška glas.
