Antonio Chedraoui Tannous was a Lebanese clergyman of the Antiochian Orthodox Church who served as a bishop, vicar, and later as Metropolitan Archbishop for Mexico, Venezuela, Central America, and the Caribbean from 1966 until his death in 2017. He was born on January 17, 1932, and was ordained a priest in 1958. Notable for his close relationships with state leaders and for constructing the Cathedral of San Pedro y San Pablo in Mexico, Chedraoui also became a Mexican citizen in 1994 and was influential in the Lebanese and Arab communities in Mexico.
