He worked extensively with indigenous peoples in Brazil, making significant contributions to indigenous rights and welfare. He co-founded the Indigenous Missionary Council (CIMI) in 1972 and was involved in numerous advocacy efforts for native communities. Iasi was arrested in 1980 during missionary work and later shifted to Nicaragua, while remaining influential in indigenous affairs until his passing on March 22, 2015.
