His promising artistic career was tragically cut short by the Spanish Civil War. He began working at a young age and studied at the School of Fine Arts in Madrid. Antón was imprisoned during the war, where he continued to create art, yet he was executed on May 19, 1937, at the age of 26, leaving behind a limited but significant body of work, much of which is preserved at the Centro de Escultura de Candás, Museo Antón.
