Antonio Savasta, born on December 30, 1955, in Rome, is a former Italian militant and justice collaborator. He was a member of the Red Brigades, operating under the aliases 'Diego' and 'Emilio'. Savasta played a significant role in the murders of Varisco and Taliercio, as well as in the kidnapping of American General James Lee Dozier. Captured during a rescue operation on January 28, 1982, in Padua, he became a prominent witness against the Red Brigades, joining the faction known as BR for the Fighting Communist Party, led by Barbara Balzerani.
