Antônio Secundino de São José (1910–1986) was a Brazilian agronomist and maize geneticist. He graduated from the Federal University of Viçosa and became a prominent figure in developing hybrid maize adapted to Brazil's climate. After studying in the USA, he co-founded Agroceres, the first Brazilian company to produce hybrid maize commercially. His work led to significant advancements in maize genetics and agricultural practices in Brazil. Secundino was recognized posthumously with various honors, including a commemorative award named after him by the state of Minas Gerais.
