Born on January 12, 1914, in El Tambo, she earned recognition as the 'artist of mates from the Mantaro Valley', a title bestowed by José María Arguedas. Her exceptional contributions to the art were acknowledged with several prestigious awards, including the Honor Prize at the Inkari Meeting in Callao in 1973 and the National Grand Master of Peruvian Handicrafts Award in 1995. She passed away on September 16, 2002, in Lima.
