April Carter (1937-2022) was a prominent British peace activist and political lecturer affiliated with various universities, including Lancaster and Oxford. Actively engaged in the nuclear disarmament movement, she served as Secretary of the Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War and coordinated the San Francisco to Moscow March. A Fellow at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and Honorary Research Fellow at Coventry University, she also contributed as a senior editor for the International Encyclopedia of Peace. Carter passed away on 16 August 2022, leaving a legacy in peace activism.
