Ara Darzi, also known as Baron Darzi of Denham, is an Iraqi-British professor born on May 7, 1960. He is recognized as one of the top surgeons in the UK and globally. Originating from an Armenian family in Iraq, he served as the UK Minister of Health, innovating the healthcare system before becoming the UK's Global Ambassador for Health. He is a professor at Imperial College London, having published over 800 peer-reviewed studies. In 2002, he was knighted, and in 2007, he became a Lord. Darzi is also the chair of the Global Health Innovations Center in London.
