Aram Van Chobanian (1929-2023) was a prominent American academic administrator and cardiologist. He served as the ninth president of Boston University from 2003 to 2005, following an interim role. Chobanian previously held the position of Dean at the Boston University School of Medicine. He earned a B.A. from Brown University and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. In recognition of his contributions, he was the first to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in Hypertension from the American Heart Association.
