Aram Karamanoukian (1910 - 1996) was a prominent Syrian army officer and one of the founding members of the Syrian army. Born in Gaziantep, he moved to Syria with his family during his childhood. He participated in the 1948 Palestinian War and served in the Syrian army for 32 years until his retirement in 1964. After studying in France, he later moved to the United States, where he passed away. His remains were returned to Aleppo for burial in the Armenian Orthodox cemetery.
