Aram Tigran (1934 - 2009) was a Kurdish-Syrian composer, musician, and singer of Armenian descent, renowned for his contributions to Kurdish national music. Born in Qamishli, he was encouraged by his father to sing in Kurdish and developed a deep friendship with the Kurdish poet Jafar Qehreman. After facing repression in Syria, he moved to Soviet Armenia where he worked in Kurdish radio. He later settled in Belgium and traveled across Europe. He left behind a rich musical legacy with over 230 Kurdish songs, along with numerous songs in Arabic, Armenian, Syriac, and Greek.
